Description
The year 2026 could be as colorful as this beautiful Muhu glove calendar.
Muhu gloves, knitted at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centurie, are admirable in their pattern density and colorfulness. Muhu gloves are also a striking piece of jewelry for today’s clothing.
All pairs of gloves were knitted for the calendar according to old Muhu customs by Heli Kiverik, the keeper of Muhu clothing heritage. Some of the mittens have been reknitted based on old gloves that are in museums both in Estonia and abroad. Other gloves have been combined based on old Muhu glove patterns.
Knitting Muhu mittens is a great challenge for every knitter, but even if you don’t want to knit, it’s nice to look at the colorful glove photos on your wall.
PS! Don’t throw away the calendar, because it is also valid in years 2037 and 2043.
