Description
Our GOOD mitten blockers help you during knitting, finishing and also when careing for your old mittens. They are made in a woodcraft workshop of Sujur in Southern Estonia in Võrumaa. The shape of the blockers is drawn by master knitter and researcher Anu Pink, who has taken into account the average size of hand and the elasticity of woolen knit. Mitten blockers are made out of 6 mm thick birch plywood and finished with a coat of carnauba oil-wax.
You should knit mittens a bit tighter than the blockers, as the knit tends to stretch when wet. Position for the thumb is marked on the blockers and another small blocker is attached for thumb. When finished knitting, rinse the mittens in warm water and then press the water softly out. Spinning them with low settings in the washing machine will also give a great effect. Use the mitten blockers with damp dry mittens and hang somewhere to dry.
These mitten blockers will make sure you have two beautiful, same size and fitting mittens!
